"Since the last budget resolution was passed 1,200 days ago, the government has borrowed 42 cents of every dollar spent," the chart notes. The chart is based on Treasury Department figures.

A video recently posted on Youtube shows Pelosi speaking in May describing her first meeting with President Bush in the White House after becoming part of the Democratic House leadership.
In the video Pelosi says, “He’s (Bush) saying something to the effect of we’re so glad to welcome you here, congratulations and I know you’ll probably have some different things to say about what is going on--which is correct. But, as he was saying this, he was fading and this other thing was happening to me."

“My chair was getting crowded in," said Pelosi. "I swear this happened, never happened before, it never happened since."

"My chair was getting crowded in and I couldn’t figure out what it was, it was like this," she said.

"And then I realized Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Alice Paul, Sojourner Truth, you name it, they were all in that chair, they were," said Pelosi. "More than I named and I could hear them say: 'At last we have a seat at the table.' And then they were gone."

This was not the only time Pelosi has told this story. On June 6 of this year she told it during an event celebrating her 25 years of political service.

Pelosi has also told the story when speaking at colleges, including at Trinity Washington University’s commencement on May 20, 2012. Pelosi's website contains a transcript of the tale as related in her 2005 commencement address at Goucher College in Baltimore.

Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were activists in the women’s rights movement during the mid to late 1800’s. The Susan B. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said late Monday that she would seek a meeting with the National Rifle Association (NRA) to see if there are any ways to find an agreement on how to prevent tragedies like the one last week in Colorado, where one shooter killed 12 and wounded nearly 60 others in a movie theater.

"I'm going to invite the National Rifle Association to one of my meetings," she said on the House floor late Monday. "I want to sit down and talk to them about how we can work together."

Jackson Lee said she hoped to understand whether the NRA could agree to new rules that would require retailers to notify authorities whenever one customer is buying excessive amounts of weapons or ammo, a reference to the Colorado shooter, who is now known to have bought thousands of rounds in preparation for the shooting.

Residents of Seminole, Florida are outraged after their local firefighters were reportedly told to remove the American flags from their trucks.

“There was an [order] from a chief to remove all flags from the apparatus”, one of the protesters explained.

But the order had nothing to do with safety, nor with the quality of the flags being flown.  They were not tattered or worn, according to reports.
The local Fox affiliate, WTVT-TV, got in touch with a spokesperson for Seminole Fire Rescue, who said that the city is trying to be “sensitive” about the proper display of the American flag.

But firefighters said off-camera that it really all began after the city received two complaints about large American flags being flown from the backs of fire trucks.

Seminole Fire Rescue spokesperson Alison Shanabrook admits as much, telling WTVT the city received a complaint about the flag being “inappropriately displayed.”

In a statement released to the media she says: “[The] City is trying to be sensitive to the proper display of the American flag,” and she pointed out the flag is part of the standard firefighter uniform.

After they appeased the complainers, the firefighters said, they were then asked to remove the smaller flags. And now they are seemingly not allowed to fly any American flags.

Another declared: “The officials in this community are responsible for the worst case of cowardice and despicable behavior I have ever witnessed.  Two…TWO complaints and they immediately cave in to [anti-American] sentiment.”

The government has been targeting Spanish speakers with radio “novelas” promoting food stamp usage as part of a stated mission to increase participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or food stamps.

Each novela, comprising a 10-part series called “PARQUE ALEGRIA,” or “HOPE PARK,” presents a semi-dramatic scenario involving characters convincing others to get on food stamps, or explaining how much healthier it is to be on food stamps.

The majority of the episodes end with the announcer encouraging the listener to tune in again to see if the skeptic applies for benefits or learns to understand the importance of food stamps to their health.

In addition to the Spanish-language outreach, the USDA is also pushing to get non-citizens enrolled in the program. The radio novelas overcome one of the hurdles the agency has identified as hampering participation: “lack of knowledge” about the program.

“Although many non-citizens are now eligible for SNAP, WHAAAAAAAT... SNAP participation has been historically low among eligible non-citizen households,” reads a 2011 Guidance on Non-Citizen Eligibility. “In 2008, the participation rate for non-citizens was 51% and the rate for citizen children living with non-citizen adults was 55% as compared to the national participation rate of 67% among all eligible individuals.”

In a shocking repudiation of President Obama’s “soak the rich” economic plans, Senate Democrats today blocked a vote on President Obama’s proposal to raise taxes on those earning more than $250,000 per year. Senate Republicans had proposed an immediate vote on the measure. In fact, they proposed two votes: one to extend the Bush tax cuts in their totality, the other to raise taxes as per Obama’s plan. “My recommendation is we give the president what he asked for,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

The strategy for McConnell and Republicans is simple: they want to show Americans that even Democrats recognize that the Bush tax cuts ought to be extended for all Americans. And Democrats want to avoid that vote, so they can continue posturing and conducting class warfare.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective 12/1/12. The American people did not make this
contract with Congressmen/women.

Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

UNITED NATIONS –  A treaty being hammered out this month at the United Nations -- with Iran playing a key role -- could expose the records of America's gun owners to foreign governments -- and, critics warn, eventually put the Second Amendment on global trial.

International talks in New York are going on throughout July on the final wording of the so-called Arms Trade Treaty, which supporters such as Amnesty International USA say would rein in unregulated weapons that kill an estimated 1,500 people daily around the world. But critics, including the National Rifle Association’s Wayne LaPierre, warn the treaty would mark a major step toward the eventual erosion of the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment gun-ownership rights.

Americans “just don’t want the UN to be acting as a global nanny with a global permission slip stating whether they can own a gun or not,” LaPierre said. “It cheapens our rights as American citizens, and weakens our sovereignty,” he warned in an exclusive interview with FoxNews.com from the halls of the UN negotiating chambers.

But in another exclusive interview with FoxNews.com, the top government official on the issue under President Bush says he’s seen nothing new to convince him the U.S. should be at the table today.

While the treaty’s details are still under discussion, the document could straitjacket U.S. foreign policy to the point where Washington could be restricted from helping arm friends such as Taiwan and Israel, said Greg Suchan, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the State Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs from 2000 to 2007.

Republicans, eager to put Senate Democrats on record on taxes, tried to force a vote Wednesday on President Obama's proposal to extend middle-class tax cuts but raise taxes for the rich, but Majority Leader Harry Reid objected, essentially sidelining the president's plan.

Sen. Mitch McConnell, Republicans' leader, tried to set up competing votes — one on the GOP's plan to extend all the tax cuts for one year, and another on Mr. Obama's proposal to extend them only for households making $250,000 or less.

But Mr. Reid objected to the request, saying he didn't want to have the vote on the GOP's legislation.

"It's the help Paris Hilton legislation," he said. "It would give people like her a tax break for doing nothing — $46 billion of the American people's money to help Paris Hilton and others."

Reid made the remarks in response to the GOP attempting to force a vote on the current tax rate, often referred to as a "tax cut." Our deficit is nearly $1.5 trillion. Even if we were to claim the entire incomes of the job creators for whom Reid shows such little respect, we would come nowhere close of making up the difference. The problem is as it's always been: spending. 

Of course, Reid created another problem for himself by comparing upstanding, hard-working Americans to a reality star with a sex tape.

The House is expected to approve legislation as early as Monday that would provide grant money to states to fight bullying at schools.

"It is time for us to stand together and stop bullying," said Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), the sponsor of the bill. "Everyone deserves to feel safe and free from persecution.

"I urge my colleagues from both sides of the aisle to vote in favor of my bill in order to keep U.S. citizens safe from harassment and to work toward making America bully-free," she added.

The bill, H.R. 6019, would refine a current law that already allows federal grants for programs meant to boost school safety. But it adds more specificity to this provision, and allows for the grants to cover school safety programs that "may include research-based bullying prevention, cyberbullying prevention and gang prevention programs, as well as intervention programs regarding bullying."

Grants to fight bullying would be permitted under the Juvenile Accountability Block Grant program, along with many others, such as grants to help states expand juvenile detention centers and hire judges to hear juvenile cases. The bill would also reauthorize that broad program and let it spend $40 million a year for the next five years.

Jackson Lee (She's A Complete WhackTard...I pray she never had kids) said recent studies show that one-third of all high school students have said violence is a serious problem at their schools, which she said makes it an epidemic.

"Bullying is not just a schoolyard anymore, it is a crisis that's taking over our nation," she said. In addition, she noted that cyberbullying makes it easier for bullies to torment people outside of school.

"Gone are the days that children can come home and seek solace and escape from their bullies; technological advances have made it easy for young people to be tormented on social networks at any time from any place," she said. "They are never out of harm's reach. This needs to end."

The bill is backed by six Democrats, but also House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas), and will be brought up Monday afternoon under a suspension of House rules. That process is usually reserved for non-controversial bills, and requires a two-thirds majority vote for passage.

Democrats on the bill are Reps. Janice Hahn (Calif.), Eddie Bernice Johnson (Texas), John Lewis (Ga.), Charles Rangel (N.Y.) and Laura Richardson (Calif.) and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D.C.).

The congresswoman known for giving her staffers profanity-laced nicknames, throwing temper tantrums and, at times, throwing objects, has introduced anti-bullying legislation.

In March 2011, The Daily Caller ran an expose of Texas Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s treatment of her staff, complete with tears, shouting, waiting, cursing and quitting (Jackson Lee has one of the highest turnovers on Capitol Hill).

“‘You stupid mother-effer’ was like a constant,” one former staffer told TheDC. “Like, all the time. But the interesting thing is she would really project that behavior more towards her African-American staffers. She would have other ethnic groups in the office, like interns or whatnot. But it was really her African-American staffers who she felt comfortable enough to really curse out. … This is something we always talked about. We chalked it up to her just feeling more comfortable acting out her aggression toward a certain group of people versus others.”

The irony might have been lost on the congresswoman — on Monday afternoon, her “Juvenile Accountability Block Grant Reauthorization and the Bullying Prevention and Intervention Act of 2012” is up for a vote.

“As we saw recently with the viral video of bus monitor Karen Klein being verbally assaulted, 21st century bullying has reached beyond its previous scope of only affecting young people,” Jackson Lee said in a statement. “Now, our seniors are getting bullied, there is bullying in the workplace and some would even suggest that there is bullying between the two parties on Capitol Hill. When will it all end?”

Jackson Lee, who once made a staffer write a memo in front of colleagues about the staffer’s own incompetence, is also a self-described founding member of the Congressional Anti-Bullying Caucus, launched late last month.

Texas Republican Rep. Lamar Smith is an original co-sponsor of Jackson Lee’s legislation, which would reauthorize the Juvenile Accountability Block Grants program and direct grants to states to combat bullying.

Medicare-claims fraud suspected for penis pumps

A new report by federal auditors says a Kansas-based company may have paid out as much as $4.2 million in potentially fraudulent Medicareclaims for penis pumps, and the auditors are asking the company to refund the government the money.

The Health and Human Services inspector general said it sampled 100 claims made with Pos-T-Vac, the Dodge City-based penis-pump manufacturer, and found improprieties in more than half of payments for what are known as “male vacuum erection systems.”

The errors ranged from the company’s failing to maintain proof that it delivered the pumps to customers, to one instance when the physician’s approval order wasn’t even signed by the doctor.

Together, those claims from the small sample amounted to $18,007 in billings, and when multiplied across Pos-T-Vac’s entire set of 28,088 claims, the potential for fraudulent payments came to more than $4.2 million in 2008 and 2009, the auditors said.
