Contract Allows Teachers to Be Drunk 5 Times – On Drugs 3 Times – Before Being Fired
Bay City, Michigan Teachers can come to work drunk five times before they are fired.
They can even sell drugs to kids and not get fired.
Students weren’t given as many chances. The code of conduct for middle school and high school students states that if they are found to be under the influence or in possession of illegal drugs, they get a 5-day suspension or a 3-day suspension with counseling on the first offense.
A teacher caught selling drugs in class would get a 3-day suspension without pay with mandatory counseling, but wouldn’t be fired unless the teacher did it a second time.
They can even sell drugs to kids and not get fired.

Chicago's Teachers Union said it will strike Monday for the first time in 25 years after talks with Chicago Public Schools ended without resolution. Teachers walked off the job for 19 days in October 1987. Prior to that, there had been nine strikes between 1969 and 1987. CTU President Karen Lewis said, “We have failed to reach an agreement that will prevent a labor strike...No CTU members will be inside of our schools Monday.” CTU walked out on more than 400,000 students at 675 schools. It's important to note that nonunion teachers are holding classes at charter schools throughout the city, while CTU strikes. Roughly 50,000 students attend charters — about 12 percent of the city's total student enrollment. The number of charters is expected to increase over the next five years. Karen Lewis took a cheap shot at charters say, “Real school will not be open [Monday]. ... No CTU member will be inside our schools." The debate is likely to be fierce as representatives of the Chicago Teachers Union and the district jockey for support from the general public. The rhetoric has aready been heated; CTU President Karen Lewis has described Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel as "a liar and a bully". (CNSNews.com) - Seventy-nine percent of the 8th graders in the Chicago Public Schools are not grade-level proficient in reading, according to the U.S. Department of Education, and 80 percent are not grade-level proficient in math.
Chicago public school teachers went on strike on Monday and one of the major issues behind the strike is a new system Chicago plans to use for evaluating public school teachers in which student improvement on standardized tests will count for 40 percent of a teacher’s evaluation. Until now, the evaluations of Chicago public school teachers have been based on what a Chicago Sun Times editorial called a “meaningless checklist.” In 2011, the U.S. Department of Education administered National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) tests in reading and math to students around the country, including in the Chicago Public Schools. The tests were scored on a scale of 0 to 500, with 500 being the best possible score. Based on their scores, the U.S. Department of Education rated students’ skills in reading and math as either “below basic,” “basic,” “proficient” or “advanced.” Nationally, public school 8th graders scored an average of 264 on the NAEP reading test. Statewide in Illinois, the 8th graders did a little better, scoring an average of 266. But in the Chicago Public Schools, 8th graders scored an average of only 253 in reading. That was lower even than the nationwide average of 255 among 8th graders in “large city” public schools. With these NAEP test results, only 19 percent of Chicago public school 8thgraders rated proficient in reading while another 2 percent rated advanced—for a total of 21 percent who rated proficient or better. 79 percent of Chicago public school 8th graders were not grade-level proficient in reading. According to the U.S. Department of Education, this included 43 percent who rated “basic” and 36 percent who rated “below basic.” In the 8th grade math test, Chicago public school 8th graders scored an average of 270 out of 500, compared to an average of 274 for 8th graders in “large city” public schools, and 283 for 8th graders nationally as well as statewide in Illinois. With these NAEP test results, only 17 percent of Chicago public school 8thgraders rated proficient in math while another 3 percent rated advanced—for a total of 20 percent who rated proficient or better. Thus, 80 percent of Chicago public school 8th graders were not grade-level proficient in math. Under current law, the armed forces cannot be unionized. But the employees working in civilian jobs relating to our national defense number more than 700,000, and of thosealmost 60 percent are already unionized. That means that the full-time military, including active military and civilian personnel, is more than 20 percent unionized. Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld told Factor, “Even the Department of Defense has come under the influence of unions.”
At the same time, government unions are on our military bases and inside the Pentagon, where they determine workplace rules and norms and file grievances. Although the 1978 Civil Service Reform Act barred collective bargaining among CIA, FBI, NSA, and Secret Service employees, other agencies have already been infiltrated; Transportation Security Administration (TSA) baggage screeners are now unionized, and here’s how President Obama made that happen.
Barack Obama’s TSA Administrator, John Pistole, started the TSA employees toward unionization in 2011. Two unions vied for control; although less than 40 percent of TSA workers voted, all 44,000 baggage screeners today, and all future screeners hired will be under the thumb of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). Even before the union vote, the DHS acknowledged that according to its own labor-management forum meeting notes, 62 Homeland Security employees are paid with tax dollars to work full time as union officials, under a procedure called “official time.”
The only way to reverse this position would be to have a highly unlikely union-decertification election. Once unions win certification, that essentially means forever.
U.S. Border Patrol agents, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) employees, our citizenship and immigration agents, our customs agents, and some Coast Guard employees are already unionized. The unionization of our defense personnel is truly dangerous; because the government would be limited to deploying them as and where needed; mandatory union policies and work rules would triumph. The possibilities of strikes would be rampant.
But Barack Obama is trying to force union control down the American people’s throats.
Soon after he was inaugurated, President Obama issued Executive Order 13,522, which requires federal departments and agencies to consult with unions before setting almost any workplace policy. This order also gave unions power to bargain over issues that they had no legal power to oversee.
Were Barack Obama to win a second term, unions would soon determine the fate of America. And if national security is unionized, we are all at risk.

Since the government sector has done such a great job at managing social security, the postal service, and the extension of mortgage credit why not also mandate that every health care worker in the country become a federal, state or local employee?
According to a new book by Mallory Factor, the effort is already underway. When thePatient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare, becomes fully effective on January 1, 2014 it’ll open the door for America’s 21 million healthcare workers to the join the government dole as paid employees of the State.
What, you thought Obamacare would only socialize the actual medical care and services, and leave the rest of the system operating as a free market?
A booklet published by SEIU during the 2008 election season called for “building a new American health care system,” in part by “organizing workers.” The publication argued for outcomes nearly identical to those later adopted in the Obamacare legislation.
In 2010 the SEIU elected Mary Key Henry as its new International President. Henry’s background was in health care organizing. She led efforts to unionize workers at Beverly nursing homes, Catholic Health Care West, Tenet Healthcare Corporation and HCA Healthcare.
Factor, who is also a Forbes columnist and senior editor of money and politics for The Street.com, recounts emails from former federal Office of Labor-Management Standards staffer Don Loos, now a senior adviser to the president of the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation.
“It is clear that Big Labor is banking on the probability that all healthcare workers eventually become federal, state, and municipal healthcare employees,” Loos told Factor. That, he said, would make them eligible for involuntary unionization through public-sector unions like AFSCME and the SEIU.
“Obamacare is an SEIU and AFSCME membership ‘net,’” Loos claimed, “designed to eventually capture 21 million forced-dues paying government workers.” New health care jobs created by Obamacare, he said, will eventually be filled by “federal, state, and municipal healthcare employees.”
The Obamacare law, once fully implemented, will dramatically increase the number of health care workers receiving payment for their services through government programs, including Medicaid and so-called “public option” government-run insurance plans.
“The government employee unions can then enlist pro-union state governments to treat these health care workers as ‘government employees,’” Factor told The Daily Caller, “and unionize them just like they unionized the care providers” themselves.
“For every million additional health care workers unionized in the 27 non-right-to-work states,” he told TheDC, “the unions stand to earn $1 billion in dues.”
Factor writes in “Shadowbosses” that Canada’s national health care system has provided an apt example. Heritage Foundation labor economist James Sherk told him that “60 percent of Canadian health care workers and a stunning 80 percent of nurses belong to unions — more than quadruple the levels in America.”
Only 10 percent of them were union members before the advent of socialized medicine in Canada, Factor said.

Twenty one billion dollars in new revenue can be quite a motivating factor for union leadership and explains why they are organizing thousands of existing organized laborers across the country to put pressure on their elected representatives and existing health care providers. With the majority of Congressional representatives willing to sell their souls to the highest bidder, twenty million more donors supporting the unions through dues would do wonders for their campaign budgets.
We can fully expect to see America’s health care labor force unionized. First through voluntary means, then through legislative mandates that force all new healthcare workers entering the field to join a federal or state sponsored union.
One day soon a trip to the emergency room involving a broken leg or heart attack may very well be met with, “Sorry, we’re on a union break, be back in fifteen.”

The Obama Administration was driving to cut off the pensions of 20,000 non-union workers.

Emails obtained by The Daily Caller show that the U.S. Treasury Department, led by ASS-BOIL Timothy Geithner, was the driving force behind terminating the pensions of 20,000 salaried retirees at the Delphi auto parts manufacturing company.
The move, made in 2009 while the Obama administration implemented its auto bailout plan, appears to have been made solely because those retirees were not members of labor unions.
The internal government emails contradict sworn testimony, in federal court and before Congress, given by several Obama administration figures. They also indicate that the administration misled lawmakers and the courts about the sequence of events surrounding the termination of those non-union pensions, and that administration figures violated federal law.
